Millwall FC gearing up for third multi-industry jobs fair – and all are welcome

Millwall Community Trust will be hosting its Kick Into Employment Job Fair at The Lions Centre next Wednesday between 9.30am-4pm.

The Millwall Kick into Employment Job Fair offers candidates from all backgrounds, experience, and education levels the opportunity to speak to employers and providers of apprenticeships and traineeships.

The event in Bolina Road is a the result of a collaboration between the football club trust and Job Centre Plus, Construction Skills Centre and Groundswell project.

Jobseekers will be able to apply for jobs and get support with CV writing and application forms on the day, meet employers face to face and even be interviewed on the day.

There will also be access to employment, career guidance, and finance and benefit advice via workshops and talks going on during the day. The aim of the event is to help support job seekers into or back into employment or training as soon as possible.

There will be a wide variety of organisations and industry sectors attending, alongside a wide variety of roles being advertised.

There will be also Millwall Community trust demonstration programmes in the Astro, including Walking Football.

John Scarborough, Millwall Community Trust’s Education & Employment Manager said: “We’re really looking forward to hosting our third cross-industry sector job fair at the Lions Centre.

“With our lead partners JCP we are hopeful of making this the biggest one yet in Lewisham and Southwark and help bridge the unemployment gap in both boroughs and not just provide employment but start sustainable careers.

“We are proud to gift this event freely to ensure employers, including start-ups, are able attend and the community can access job and training opportunities but equally importantly information advice and guidance for the many wider barriers to employment and training they may be experience.”
