Mitcham bike shed blaze devastates next door flats
A fire in a garden shed ended up destroying an adjacent ground-floor flat, half a first-floor flat and a small part of a roof.
Four fire engines and about 25 firefighters were called to the blaze in what was bike workshop fire in a side-shed in a garden in Edmund Road, Mitcham this morning.
The fire brigade received the first 999 calls shortly after 8.30am and the fire was under control shortly after 10am.
Fire crews from Mitcham, Wimbledon and Tooting fire stations were in attendance.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
