More than 85 per cent of children in Croydon secure first choice primary school
More than 85 per cent of children in Croydon have secured a place at their first choice primary school.
Croydon parents and carers were yesterday notified about which primary school their children will be starting in September.
A total of 4,478 applications were received this year, and 86.8 per cent of children were offered their first choice.
Parents and carers must accept or decline their offer of a primary school place by April 30.
Jason Perry, Executive Mayor of Croydon, said: “We’re delighted that everyone who applied on time has been offered a place for their child and the overwhelming majority have been offered a place at their first choice.
“We want Croydon to be a place where our children and young people can reach their potential and our schools are well placed to help them towards achieving this.”
