‘MS support programme allows me to work out how to cope’

A woman with multiple sclerosis (MS) is speaking out about the support she has received from the MS society.

Doulla Manolas, from Wandsworth, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2009.

Now in her forties, she said she does what she can but is affected by MS symptoms including fatigue, brain fog and forgetfulness, problems with walking and bladder issues.

She found out about the MS Society’s Living Well with MS sessions after being a member of the charity for a number of years. She said: “It’s a chance to find out how people are and if they’ve had changes in their symptoms.

“It’s made me think about how I’m coping, about slowing down and being okay if I’m not able to do something. I didn’t have the confidence to do that before. I had to learn that through the sessions.”
