Murder probe launched after Hammersmith woman dies from suspected head injury

The Met has launched a murder investigation following the death of a 36-year-old woman in Hammersmith.

Police were called to a residential property in Coulter Road last night at around 10.15pm, following reports that a man was attempting to force entry into one of the flats.

Cops arrived and, having accessed the property, found a woman, aged 36, who had sadly died following what appeared to be a head injury.

A 38-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.

Next of kin have yet to be informed and formal identification has yet to be established.

A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

Detective Chief Inspector Ollie Stride, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are saddened to hear about the loss of this young woman and are working to ensure that her family are informed and supported by specialist officers as soon as possible.

“I understand the impact this incident will have had on neighbours and the community and we are doing everything we can to investigate the circumstances.

“Although we have made an arrest, we still need to have an understanding of what took place last night in Coulter Road.
