New 16-storey ‘super hotel’ set to open but will be mostly underground

The 16-storey Londoner hotel is set to wow visitors with skyline views of London as well as a hidden selection of luxury floors beneath some of the busiest streets in the capital.

The hotel will mostly be underground and will feature one of the world’s deepest basements.

Hidden beneath the world-famous square is a six-layer basement complete with a ballroom, gallery, and two cinema screens – dubbed an ‘iceberg’ hotel – due to most of it being underground.

The expansive underground ballroom will be used for events and can host up to 864 guests.

The £300million hotel will even have its own barbershop as well as six restaurants and bars, alfresco dining on the ground floor, and a 24-hour private members bar.

The Londoner has 350 rooms with most suites being priced at £400 a night.

A luxury penthouse sits on top of the development with panoramic views of the London skyline. The hotel is designed by architectural firm Woods Bagot.

Most of the food and drink spots at the hotel will be open to the public, allowing tourists and Londoners to enjoy the venue and get a glimpse of what lies beneath the streets.
