Five members from the same home and four other people have been charged with the murder of an 18-year-old who was stabbed to death last December.

Jay Sewell was allegedly attacked by a gang in Eltham on December 11 and died that night in hospital.

Charlie Dudley, 25, of no fixed abode, was charged first following the murder and has appeared in court.

Last week eight more people were charged – Daniel Grogan, 20, Peter Grogan, 22, Francesca Grogan, 29, Ann Grogan, 54 and Robert Grogan, 57 who are all from Sidcup Road in Lee and all charged with murder and wounding.

Jamie Bennett, 31, of the same address as the Grogans, Liam Hickey, 19 from Crown Wood Way, and a 16 year old boy from Greenwich who cannot be named for legal reasons were also charged with murder and wounding.

They appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court last Thursday. The defendants spoke only to confirm their name, age, address and nationality of British.

They did not indicate a plea and were remanded in custody and were due to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday.

Magistrate Cinzia Greaves said to all defendants: “You cannot be tried at this court so your case has been moved to the Central Criminal Court – you will appear there on Monday, March 4.”

The 16-year-old was remanded in a youth detention centre and Mr Dudley will next appear at the Old Bailey tomorrow.
