Old Kent Road murder victim named as two suspects charged

The victim of a fatal stabbing in the Old Kent Road, Bermondsey, has been named for the first time after a man and a woman were charged with murder on Friday.

Carlton McCloud, 47, was found suffering from stab wounds by members of the public on January 9.

A post mortem examination found the cause of death to be sharp force trauma to the chest.

Matthew Henry, 39, of Coopers Road, Bermondsey, and Nicole Quamina, 34, of no fixed address appeared in custody at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

A 54-year old man and a 38-year-old woman who were also arrested on suspicion of murder have been released on bail.

A murder investigation was launched after police were called at around 6.50am to reports of an injured man in the Old Kent Road, Bermondsey.

Officers, London’s Air Ambulance and London Ambulance Service crews attended the scene, where they found a man suffering from knife injuries.

Despite the efforts of emergency services to save him, Mr McCloud died at the scene at around 7.30am.
