One woman is in hospital after blaze breaks out in flat

A woman was taken to hospital after a fire broke out in a flat in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters rescued one woman and another woman escaped from the flat fire in Glenrosa Street in Fulham.

Part of the flat on the ground floor of a converted mid-terraced house was damaged by fire.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) reported that one woman had already escaped the building before the Brigade arrived and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued another woman using the building’s internal staircase.

The Brigade was called at around 4am and the fire was under control by around 5am.

Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Battersea, Wandsworth and Old Kent Road fire stations attended the scene.

The LFB said that the fire is believed to have been accidental.

A London Fire Brigade spokesman said: “Firefighters recommend that you have a look at our online home fire safety checker to make sure there are no hidden hazards in your home.

“The online tool will ask you a series of questions that will help us work out the level of risk in your home, or the home of someone you care for. It only takes a few minutes to get tailored advice to keep yourself and loved ones safe from fire.”
