Pedestrian killed by lorry on busy high street

A pedestrian was killed in a collision with a lorry on a busy high street yesterday afternoon.

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) was called at around 3.30pm to reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a lorry in Peckham High Street, Peckham.

Police said they were called to the scene by the LAS at around 3.30pm.

The LAS sent an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and a medic in a fast response car to the scene. The service said they also dispatched an air ambulance.

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a person died at the scene.”
