Pictures released prove rail work IS taking place

The dreaded words ‘rail replacement service’ have been torturing commuters in South-east London during lockdown.

But Network Rail has actually released pictures of work being done on the line through Hither Green so frustrated passengers can be reassured the work is actually being done to replace ageing signals.

The work was planned over four days at Easter but because signalling technicians couldn’t work together in confined spaces during lockdown, it’s taking double the length of time to complete the job.

Extra improvements are also being done at the same time to make the most of the line closures, give passengers more benefits sooner and minimise future disruption.
