Children got to try out a new playground which opened last week after a £155,000 makeover.

Lewisham’s new mayor, Brenda Dacres, was joined by children from Adamsrill and Brent Knoll schools to reopen the newly-refurbished playground in Mayow Park, Forest Hill.

New equipment at the playground includes a wheelchair carousel, a basket swing for children of all abilities, tactile and sensory play panels, a new tree climber and other climbing frames for different ages.

The new playground received the £155,000 investment from Lewisham council’s Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (NCIL), Greening Fund and the Veolia Environmental Trust.

Mayor Dacres said: “It was so lovely to see the children running around and having fun in their new playground at Mayow Park and I’m excited to see these fantastic new facilities now finished and in use.”
