A young actor has been left traumatised after he was attacked by an unknown woman

Ricardo P Lloyd, 27, was with his little cousins in Lambeth Walk visiting his sick grandfather on Wednesday at around 6.30pm when he got into a confrontation with a woman who was being verbally aggressive towards him in Lambeth Newsagent and MiniMarket.

Ricardo, pictured, said the woman, who was a stranger, was telling him to shut up and threatened to call someone on him.

She then came over to him outside the shop and attacked him by surprise, punching him and grabbing him.

Ricardo went back into the house after the attack, and his family said he was covered in blood. He was taken to be hospital to be treated.

He was also left with a black eye.

Ricardo said: “This vicious attack has not only scarred me physically but emotionally.

“I do not trust the justice system but I pray that justice will prevail in this so other young black males do not experience these horrendous attacks.

“But we all know how these stories go, this stuff is a reminder to me of what it is to be a black male again.

“It’s sad that even today you’re a victim as a black male you’re still demonised.”

Ricardo said the incident has also had a great effect on him as it has hindered his progress as an actor – his face is an important part of the job.

The Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 7.10pm on Wednesday, December 16 to a South London hospital.

“Officers attended and spoke with a 27-year-old man who reported that he had been assaulted by an unknown woman 30 minutes earlier on Lambeth Walk, SE11.

“At this stage, there have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

“Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference Cad 6416/16Dec.”
