Police appeal for witnesses after pensioner dies following road collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a pensioner was killed in a road collision.

The incident, involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian, occurred in Acre Lane, Brixton, shortly before 4pm on Sunday, April 24.

The 87-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital by LAS where he later died.

The rider of the motorcycle was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

He was taken to a South London police station and was subsequently released under investigation.

The pedestrian’s next of kin were notified and continue to be supported by specialist officers.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are investigating.

They are particularly keen to hear from any witnesses who saw the collision, or captured it on dash cam.
