Police appeal for witnesses after shots fired in Streatham

Shots were heard and cartridges left at the scene, but police would like to hear from anyone who saw anything after a gun was fired in Streatham.

Police were called to Gaywood Close at 1.30am on Wednesday.

There were no reported injuries, but the outside of a residential property was damaged.

Trident detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are investigating.

So far no arrests have been made and enquiries continue.

Detective Constable Remy Smith said: “Fortunately nobody was hurt in this incident, but the outcome could have been much worse.

“We’re examining the cartridges found at the scene and would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or Tweet @MetCC quoting reference Cad 517/5Aug.
