Police appeal for witnesses as man fights for life after stabbing in Greenwich

Police are appealing for the public’s help after a man was left fighting for his life following a stabbing in Greenwich.

Police were called to Hevelius Close at around 6pm on Monday September 17 following reports of a stabbing.

Officers, paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance attended.

Two men were found suffering from stab wounds.

A 39-year-old man remains in hospital in a critical condition and a 31-year-old man’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Enquiries continue to establish the circumstances.

There have been no arrests.

Officers are appealing for anyone that witnessed the incident, or who has images or video to come forward.

Detective Constable Terry Mulcahy, of Greenwich CID, said: “‘This was a horrendous incident, the motive for which is unknown at this time.

“Anyone with information in relation to this incident is encouraged to come forward as a matter of urgency.”
