Police hunt man who threw boiling liquid at woman
A man who attacked a stranger with boiling liquid six months ago is still on the loose.
Police were called at around 5.30pm on November 10, 2022, to reports of an assault in Walworth Road, near to the junction with Carter Place in Elephant and Castle.
Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service. When they arrived at the scene a woman had been assaulted with a liquid, she was taken to hospital for treatment.
Later it was found that a man – who was not known to the victim – had thrown boiling liquid at her.
Detectives launched an investigation and carried out a number of enquiries, including a review of local CCTV cameras.
An image of a man police would like to speak to has now been released.
Detective Chief Inspector Amanda Mawhinney: “We are yet to identify a suspect in connection with this attack, and this will clearly be of concern to the victim.
“We have now released an image of a man we want to trace who we think could assist our enquiries.
“Anyone who recognises him or has information that could assist us is asked to make contact immediately.”
