Police officer who fatally shot Chris Kaba cleared of murder

The police officer who fatally shot Chris Kaba two years ago has been cleared of murder.

Martyn Blake, 40, shot Mr Kaba through the windscreen of an Audi Q8 in Kirkstall Gardens, Streatham on September 5, 2022.

Mr Kaba, from Wembley, was unarmed when he was shot in the head following a car chase.

The officer denied intending to kill the 24-year-old.

Mr Justice Goss thanked the jury of nine men and three women following the verdict today, saying they displayed diligence and care during the trial, according to BBC News.

Mr Kaba was also known as rapper Madiz and was part of the MOBO-nominated drill group 67. He was due to become a father before he was shot.
