Positive vibes puts Kaye D from New Cross at brink of model contest final
It might be hard to shine bright when your sister has been on TV talent show The Voice, your partner is a DJ and your mum is the mainstay of a gospel choir.
But full-time mum Kaye Fallowfield, known as Kaye D from New Cross, is making her own impact by reaching the semi-finals of the Miss British Isles Elegance contest – and 15,000 instagram followers.
Kaye D, who gives positivity and beauty tips to her thousands of fans, said: “Getting in the semis was fantastic as I have never done any modelling competitions before.
“Everything felt a bit more real and it gave me the hope to keep trying as opportunities are now arising and I’m a big believer of manifestation.
“I simply live the life I am working towards and good things usually follow. Positivity is a healer and if you believe in yourself hard enough, pure magic will constantly be around your spirit.”
Kaye D moved to New Cross at 18 looking for better opportunities and went to study media at Lewisham College. She used to sing – encouraged by her mum’s gospel singing.
Her sister has had the fast track pass to The Voice twice. Her fiance is on stage too – as a disc jockey, DJ KC.
“I also got my three-year-old Leon into modelling – so he is now a freelance model as well,” said Kaye D, who has also worked as a receptionist.
The semi-finals are in Liverpool on Sunday, September 6 and will involve a professional photo shoot.
If successful at this stage, Kaye D will go through to the finals taking place at The Crown Plaza hotel in Chester, on Sunday September 27.
The winner will bag a modelling and promotional contract, photo-shoot in Marbella and Miss British Isles crown and winner’s sash.
