Pupils from Sydenham High School learn the art of construction
Pupils from Sydenham High School enjoyed a visit to the new Wells Park Place development in Sydenham Hill.
The 25 pupils, aged between seven and 10 years old, are members of the school’s Grand Designs club, and the visit was an opportunity for the students to learn more about the way homes are designed and constructed.
As part of the visit, the students were given a talk on how the site was created and the various stages of its progress by Crest Nicholson’s production director, Mark Graves.
The schoolchildren then met Crest Nicholson’s senior design manager, James Jackson, who explained the design process and how he worked with the architects to consider the natural habitat of the area to enhance the views at the development.
Claire Boyd, head of Junior School at Sydenham High School, said: “The visit to the Crest Nicholson site gave our pupils a fascinating insight into the design process and collaborative work that goes into bringing an exciting project like Wells Park Place to life.”
