Renewed candles warning after fire takes hold in three-bedroom Southwark flat
Firefighters have issued a reminder of their candle safety advice following a fire at a block of flats.
A small part of a three-roomed flat was damaged by the fire in Wolseley Street, Southwark. late on Monday night.
Two people were treated on scene by the London Ambulance Service, one of whom was taken to hospital.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by the unsafe use of candles.
The brigade was called shortly before 10pm and the incident was over for firefighters an hour later.
Crews from Old Kent Road, Deptford, Shoreditch and New Cross fire stations attended the scene.
