Rohan Trotman killing: 19-year-old charged with murder

A 19-year-old has been charged with murder after a brutal stabbing left a young man to die in hospital.

Yusuf Kallon, 19 of Marmont Road, Peckham, appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, charged with the murder of 26-year-old Rohan Trotman.

Kallon appeared at the Old Bailey today. He was also charged with two counts of robbery, possession of a bladed article and possession of cannabis.

He was remanded in custody to appear for a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing [PTPH] at the same court on September 26.

A provisional trial date has been set for May 20, 2024 at the Old Bailey.

Police were called at around 9.20pm to reports of a stabbing in Nunhead Green, near to the junction with Gordon Road, Peckham.

Mr Trotman had suffered stab wounds and had been taken to hospital by a member of the public.

Despite the efforts of medical staff, he died in hospital at 9.30am the following morning.

His next of kin continue to be supported by specially trained officers.
