Seven South London men charged with murder of teenage boy in Tottenham
Seven South London men have now been charged with the murder of a 17-year-old boy in Tottenham.
Detectives investigating the fatal shooting of Tyler McDermott in Tottenham charged another man with his murder at the weekend.
Kalam Bagge, 18, of Nimrod Road, Tooting, was charged on Sunday and appeared in custody at Willesden Magistrates’ Court yesterday. He will appear at the Old Bailey tomorrow.
A murder investigation was launched after police were called at around 4.30am on April 13, to Norman Road, Tottenham.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found 17-year-old Tyler suffering from a gunshot injury to the head. He was taken to hospital for treatment but sadly died the next day.
A post-mortem examination confirmed he died as a result of a gunshot wound. His family continue to be supported by specialist officers.
Six other men have previously been charged with Tyler’s murder, including, Tyrese Matthews, 20, of Black Prince Road, Vauxhall, Damaris McBeth, 19, of The Glade, Croydon, Rhys Antwi, 19 of Prentis Rd, Streatham Hill and Alfred Coker, 20 of Bowen Drive, Streatham Hill.
Tyrese Barnett, 19, of no fixed address, was also charged with the attempted murder of another man and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Leo Reid, also 19, of Tulse Hill, Streatham, was also charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
Barnett, Reid and Matthews have been remanded in custody and will next appear at the Old Bailey on July 5. Court dates are yet to be confirmed for the four other men.
