‘Something I will remember forever’: Chelsea FC stars visit hospital for 30 year anniversary

Three Chelsea FC footballers visited a hospital to celebrate the organisation’s 30 year anniversary.

Mason Mount, Thiago Silva and Marc Cucurella surprised staff and a number of children patients by handing out gifts including Chelsea footballs, cushions, water bottles and pens.

Mr Mount, Mr Silva and Mr Cucurella also presented the hospital with a Chelsea shirt signed by all of the first team squad accompanied with the number 30 on the back to celebrate the milestone.

Simon Taylor, head of the Chelsea Foundation, said: “Following our regular visits to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital over a number of years, it was a pleasure to be able to support their anniversary celebrations.

“I’ve been lucky enough to see the tremendous work of the staff here on a number of occasions, and to be able to bring our players down to support an important milestone for the hospital but also bring some happiness to the patients, is something we are extremely proud of.”

Four additional patients from Chelsea and Westminster Hospital joined the Chelsea trio as well as the rest of the Chelsea squad for an exclusive visit into the training ground to watch their heroes in action.

Ava Lyon said: “An amazing day, I can’t believe it. To meet Mason Mount and Reece James is a dream come true and something I will remember forever.”
