Supermarket sold out of date chicken

A supermarket has been given a hygiene rating of one out of five for selling out-of-date foods.
Chicken, cheese and yoghurt drinks were all past their use-by date when a Westminster City inspector visited Naser Supermarket in Bayswater.
The Queensway shop had “a lot” of food items on its shelves that were out of date, a food hygiene report has revealed.
The hygiene report said: “At the time of the visit, there were a lot of food items on the shelves. For example sliced chicken packs, yoghurt drinks, and sliced cheese which were found on your premises were past their use-by date.
“The use-by date is the date until which the manufacturer of the food guarantees it is safe to eat.”
Brioche rolls were also found past their best before date and the inspector recommended the shop make sure it was rotating its stock to make sure other items were not going out of date.
Naser Supermarket was contacted for comment.
