Teenage girl makes claim of rape in New Cross park

Police are investigating an allegation of rape which reportedly occurred in Eckington Gardens, Lewisham between 8.30pm and 9.15pm on Thursday, 30 September. 

The complainant, a 14-year-old girl, has reported being assaulted by a 15-year-old boy.

She is being supported by specially trained officers.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested and taken into custody before being released on bail.

Initial enquiries suggest that the complainant and the suspect were known to each other.
