Teenage girl shot in the arm

Armed police rushed to a street in Lewisham in the early hours of Saturday morning after a teenage girl was shot in the arm.

Detectives have launched an investigation after the incident, which happened at around 3am in Lucas Street.

Officers found the woman, in her late teens, with a gunshot wound, and she was taken to hospital by London Ambulance crews.

Her injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing.

A police spokesman said: “A number of bullet casings have been recovered and sent for specialist analysis.”

There have been no arrests so far.
