Teenager found stabbed in Woolwich Common area dies of his injuries

Detectives are investigating following a fatal stabbing in Greenwich.

Police were called at 3.28pm today to Academy Road, junction with Shooters Hill, Woolwich, to reports of a man with stab injuries.

Officers and paramedics found the victim, believed to be aged 18, in the Woolwich Common area.

Despite the efforts of passers-by, police and paramedics, the man died at the scene.

Police believe they know the identity of the deceased and have informed next of kin.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

The Specialist Crime Command have been informed and urgent enquiries are underway to establish what happened.

A crime scene and road closures are in place.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has information, video or images that could assist police, are asked to call 101 ref CAD 4426/15 March.

  • When is all this violence going to end.
    Mums,Dads and extended families losing thier children, all for living in the wrong postcode or being mistaken for a gang member.
    It’s time we all took notice of our children and what they are doing, who they are hanging around with.
