The Sunday Times names Woolwich in top seven places to live in London
Seven neighbourhoods in London have been featured in a comprehensive guide of the best places to live, published by the Sunday Times.
Woolwich came in the top seven places to live in London, selected by the Sunday Times judges.
The opening of the Elizabeth Line was praised for the transformation of Woolich’s stretch of riverside which, said the judges, had turned the area into one of the most exciting neighbourhoods in London.
Crouch End was crowned as the best place to live in London, for its distinct cultural scene, supermarkets and independent stores, as well as its Edwardian houses and relatively remote location.
Earlsfield was also listed in the top seven, a decision based on its riverside walks and lively high street.
Helen Davies, the editor of Best Places to Live 2023, said: “When times are tough, where we live matters more than ever.
“Attractive surroundings, good neighbours and a comfortable home are the best defences when the stresses of modern life seem overwhelming.”
The Sunday Times judges visited all the locations and assessed factors from schools to transport, broadband speeds to culture, as well as access to green spaces and the health of the high street.
