Third person charged in connection with murder of Carlton McCloud

A third person has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a 47-year-old man last month.

Fabeo Alexandru De Sousa Pinto De Oliviera, 35, of no fixed address, will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court today, charged with the murder of Carlton McCloud on January 9.

A man and a woman have previously been charged with murder as part of the investigation.

Matthew Henry, 39, of Coopers Road, Bermondsey, and Nicole Quamina, 34, of no fixed address, appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on January 13.

They will next appear at Inner London Crown Court on March 28.

A murder investigation was launched after police were called at around 6.50am to reports of an injured man in the Old Kent Road, Bermondsey.

Officers, London’s Air Ambulance and London Ambulance Service crews attended the scene, where they found a man suffering from knife injuries.

Despite the efforts of emergency services to save him, Mr McCloud died at the scene at around 7.30am. His next of kin are being supported by specialist officers, the Met said.

A post-mortem examination found the cause of death to be sharp force trauma to the chest.
