Three people taken to hospital after fire tears through flat

Three people were taken to hospital by ambulances after a fire broke out in a flat in the early hours of this morning.

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled the blaze in Comeragh Road in West Kensington.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) reported that four people escaped the building before the brigade arrived and three people were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.

Most of a four-roomed flat on the ground floor of the converted end-of-terrace house was damaged by the fire.  Half of the communal area was also damaged by the blaze.

The brigade was called at around 1.30am and crews reported they had the fire under control by around 4am.

Firefighters from Hammersmith, Kensington, Fulham and Heston fire stations attended the scene.

A spokesman from the LFB said: “The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Met.”
