Two arrested after suspected XL Bully dog hospitalises five men
Two people have been arrested after an XL Bully dog attacked and hospitalised five men last night.
Armed police were called at around 10pm to reports of an out of control dog – described as an XL Bully – that was attacking members of the public in Home Road, Battersea.
Officers shot the dog dead at the scene.
London Ambulance service crews treated four men at the scene before taking them to hospital. One man also made his own way to hospital before the ambulances arrived, a spokeswoman from the service said.
The Met has confirmed none of their injuries are life-threatening.
Following the attack, a 22-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of being the owner of a dog which police described as “dangerously out of control”. Both remain in custody.
A spokesman from the Met said: “Enquiries continue to establish the circumstances of the incident.
“An examination of the dog will take place to establish its specific breed.
“Anyone with information that could assist police is asked to call 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD7620/18Mar.”
