Two dead after shooting in Brixton
Two men have died after a shooting in Brixton last night.
The incident happened shortly before 8pm in Railton Road.
Police were called at around 7.50pm to reports of gunshots heard.
Two men were found injured, and despite the efforts of emergency services, they were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The nature of their injuries has not yet been confirmed.
Their next of kin are yet to be informed and police say they are awaiting formal identification.
Firearms officers, London Ambulance Service workers and London’s Air Ambulance staff are all on the scene.
A number of roads in the area are closed and crime scenes are in place.
Police said residents will see an enhanced police presence in the area and are advised to speak to officers if they have any information.
At this stage, there have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
