Two more men appear in court charged with murder after Croydon stabbing

Two more men have appeared in court charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a 27-year-old in Thornton Heath last month.

Omari Peat, 22, of Southampton Gardens, Mitcham, was arrested on suspicion of murder on December 24 and released on bail.

He was re-arrested on Thursday and charged with murder.

Zac Dylan Baako, 28, of no fixed address, was also arrested on Thursday and charged with murder.

Both appeared in court on Saturday and have been remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey tomorrow.

The charges have been made in connection to the fatal stabbing of Michael Patrick Afonso Peixoto.

Mr Peixoto’s family have been informed of this development, the Met said.

Another man, John Budal, 19, of Ena Road, Streatham, appeared at Bromley Magistrates Court on December 30, charged with murder, robbery, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of cannabis.

He appeared at the Old Bailey on January 3. The Met said they were awaiting details of his next court appearance.

Mr Peixoto died after being attacked and stabbed by a group of men in Mayfield Crescent, Thornton Heath at around 10.30pm on December 19.

After the attack, the suspects drove off in the car Michael had been travelling in, a grey Vauxhall Grand X Elite – registration DL19LVS – which has yet to be recovered.

A post-mortem examination confirmed the cause of death as a stab wound.
