Two people arrested in south-west London on suspicion of terrorism offences

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences as part of an investigation by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.

Both men were arrested at a flat in south-west London on Tuesday, 16 July – and cops have also raided a business in south-east London.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of funding of terrorism contrary to Section 17 of the Terrorism Act (TACT), 2000.

A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a document or record containing information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to section 58 TACT, 2000.

Both men were detained under section 41 TACT and taken to a south London police station, where they currently remain in police custody.

As part of the investigation officers are currently searching an address in south-west London and have completed a search of a commercial premises in south east London.
