‘Unexpected and unexplained’: Body found dead in lorry
A body was found in a lorry yesterday morning in an incident that has been described by police as “unexpected and unexplained.”
A Wandsworth refuse collection team found the body of a man in Glen Albyn Road, Wimbledon, at around 9.30am.
At around 9am, a call had been made to police from a nearby address, where a woman in her late 40s and a young boy were reported to be injured.
Their injuries were found not to be life threatening or changing.
Officers who attended the woman and young boy were later informed that a man had been found unresponsive in the back of a refuse lorry.
The London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade attended, but the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A statement from the Met said: “The death is being treated as unexpected and unexplained, but not suspicious at this time.
“His next of kin have been informed. No other parties are believed to be involved and no arrests have been made.
