‘Vande Maalaram’ India Republic Day Event held at Townley Girls Grammar School
David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, was among the special guests at the ‘Vande Maalaram’ India Republic Day Event held at Townley Girls Grammar School on Saturday evening
Also present were Priti Patel MP, Bexley Mayor Cllr Peter Reader, and Mayoress Irene Reader. Mr Evennett delivered a short address on the cultural and historic ties between India and the UK.
The event included a discussion forum on crime and burglary, a traditional Indian dance performance, and heroes of Indian Fancy Dress competition, and a yoga display.
Mr Evennett said: “I was delighted to attend an outstanding community event and congratulate all the organisers and participants”.
