Man arrested over Tooting killing
Detectives investigating the murder of a 50-year-old man in Tooting have made an arrest.
A 44-year-old man was arrested in Tooting on Wednesday, 28 March on suspicion of murder and taken to a south London police station where he remains.
Police were called at approximately 14:45hrs on Monday, 26 March to a residential address in Tooting High Street, SW17, following concerns for the welfare of a resident.
Officers forced entry at 15:12hrs and found the body of a 50-year-old man.
The victim had apparently been stabbed and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed, although formal identification awaits.
A post-mortem examination is taking place today, 28 March. The results await.
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.
