Warm welcome offered at Wandsworth libraries this winter

Libraries across Wandsworth are running Community Spaces this winter to help support residents who are struggling with the cost of living.

GLL operates libraries in Balham, Battersea, Battersea Park, Earlsfield, Northcote, Putney, Roehampton, Southfields, Tooting, Wandsworth and York Gardens under its Better brand on behalf of Wandsworth council.

All libraries will offer free, weekly drop-in tea and coffee mornings alongside the normal activities program, from now until March 31.

Daniel Andrews, GLL libraries partnership manager, said: “As a facility at the heart of our local community, we are aware that some people may struggle this winter.

“Our staff will be on hand to welcome those in need to our warm community spaces during the coming months.”

Cost of living warm packs will also be distributed to residents to help them save energy and keep their homes warm.

Wandsworth council Leader Simon Hogg said: “We are determined to do all we can to make a difference, by offering a compassionate helping hand and supporting our residents through these difficult winter months.”
