‘We are all very proud’: Croydon primary school praised for ‘expert’ care by Ofsted
A Croydon primary school has received glowing feedback from its latest Ofsted inspection.
The Crescent Primary School in The Crescent, Thornton Heath, was awarded a ‘Good’ overall rating with an ‘Outstanding’ rating for its early years provision by the education watchdog, following an inspection in July.
The school – which is part of The Pioneer Academy Trust – had previously been marked as ‘Requires Improvement’ following an inspection in 2022.
Headteacher Verity Denman said: “We are all very proud of our wonderful school and so pleased that our latest Ofsted report reflects our brilliant school and community.
“I want to thank all our staff, pupils and their parents and carers for their hard work and commitment and for continuing to uphold our values.”
Inspectors praised school staff for being “caring and ambitious”, noting that “pupils are well looked after by staff who get to know them well”.
Pupils’ behaviour was “settled and calm”, the report said, and early years children were “expertly supported” to develop detailed knowledge across the curriculum.
Lee Mason-Ellis, chief executive at The Pioneer Academy Trust, said: “We are so proud of the brilliant progress that has been made and we look forward to continuing to support the school to go from strength to strength.”
