Wimbledon Village makes Sunday Times best place to live in London list

Seven neighbourhoods in London have been featured in a comprehensive guide of the best places to live, published by the Sunday Times.

Wimbledon Village came in the top seven places to live in London, selected by the Sunday Times judges, for the second year running.

The sporty but laid back atmosphere was praised by the judges, who said the farmers markets and chic cafes leant to the area’s “extremely good” quality of life.

Wimbledon was also described as a “well connected” corner of the capital, with 15 trains an hour to London Waterloo.

Clerkenwell was crowned as the best place to live in London this year, for its distinct cultural scene, pubs, cafes, bars and restaurants as well as its “fascinating history”.

Helen Davies, Best Places to Live editor, said: “This guide is a celebration of towns, cities and villages that are each a fantastic place to live in 2024, from Dunkeld to Knutsford, Falmouth to Leeds.

“These are all places that have a mature sense of community, lively, supportive high streets and an eye to the future, whether that is eco-friendly measures, transport and regeneration, or imaginative inclusion of new housing.”
