Woman in hospital in critical condition after accident in Brixton

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious road traffic collision in Brixton.

The incident occurred in Brixton Hill, near the junction with New Park Road shortly before 10.10pm on Saturday, May 14.

The collision involved a car and a pedestrian.

Officers and London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended.

The pedestrian, a 78-year-old woman, was taken to hospital by LAS where she remains in a critical condition.

Her next of kin have been informed and continue to be supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and has assisted police with the ongoing investigation.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are investigating the circumstances.

They are particularly keen to hear from any witnesses who saw the collision, or captured it on dash cam.

Any witnesses yet to speak with police are asked to call the SCIU at Catford Traffic Garage on 020 8285 1574 quoting 7898/14MAY2022.
