Woman taken to hospital after being saved from flat fire
A woman was taken to hospital after firefighters rescued her from a flat fire yesterday afternoon.
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled the blaze at a flat in Greystead Road, Forest Hill.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued the woman from the living room of the property.
The fire damaged a small part of the five-roomed flat, on the second floor of a residential block under refurbishment.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called at around 1.15pm and the fire was under control an hour later.
Fire crews from Forest Hill, New Cross, Lewisham and Lee Green fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the LFB and the Met.
