Ray Lewington awaiting negative Covid-19 test before returning to Crystal Palace training

Crystal Palace assistant Ray Lewington is awaiting a further Covid-19 test result as he continues his recovery from the virus.
The 64-year-old had been suffering from the symptoms last week and has been self-isolating. He was therefore absent for Palace’s games against West Ham and Wolves.
Palace will wait until Lewington has fully recovered from the effects of the virus before he returns to the first-team bubble.
Boss Roy Hodgson said: “He was tested today so we’re waiting on that result. It’s not as simple as negative or positive, there are degrees which have to be further analysed.
“He’s feeling much better which is good, he’s not suffering particularly from it. He won’t be joining us tomorrow for Newcastle but I hope he will have recovered in time to train with us next time we train, which I think will be Friday.”
