So cute – but Battersea stresses importance of neutering
They are adorable – and they are the offspring of a young cat called Calibri who is barely out of kittenhood herself.
Calibri is less than a year old and Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is stressing the need for cat owners to get their pets neutered on what is World Spay Day (who knew there was such a thing?).
Last year, Battersea saw 133 kittens born across its three centres in London, Old Windsor and Brands Hatch – the highest figure in the past decade. The charity has already taken in 46 kittens so far in 2023.
A spokesman for the home for stray pets in Battersea Park Road said: “Calibri’s case emphasises the importance of getting your cat neutered early to avoid large, unforeseen costs, as the previous owner was subsequently forced to give up mum and kittens to Battersea because they couldn’t afford them following the unplanned pregnancy.”
