AFC Wimbledon boss on ‘really disappointing performance’ at Oxford United

Mark Robinson was extremely disappointed with AFC Wimbledon’s lack of energy in their 3-0 defeat against Oxford United on Wednesday evening.
Mark Sykes, Matt Taylor and Sam Long all found the back of the net.
Dons head coach Robinson said: “It was a real tough night, and a really disappointing performance, which I didn’t see coming.
“Our last two performances have been really good, high energy. They’ve been training really well. I’ve got to look at our training regime, did we do enough big pitch stuff?
“Everything we are about, just wasn’t there tonight. There was a lack of energy, we looked lethargic, we never got going and when we did get the ball we gave it away cheaply.
“All the things that we are good at, we didn’t do. They are a good side, their movement was excellent, they passed the ball really well.
“It was a long tough night. But it’s one game – 90 minutes doesn’t define your season. It’s one game where we were poor on and off the ball and we have to look at why.
“They played with real high energy, and we never really looked confident with the ball. Our detail was poor, and our game is about hunting in packs. Tonight we never got close to them.”
