AFC Wimbledon close on loan return for former striker

AFC Wimbledon are closing in on a deal to re-sign Joe Pigott on loan for the 2024-25 League Two campaign.

The 30-year-old scored 54 goals in 157 appearances during his first spell with the Dons.

Pigott left Plough Lane at the end of the 2020-21 season to join League One side Ipswich Town.

He has also had spells with Portsmouth and Leyton Orient since leaving Wimbledon.

Pigott is set to bolster Johnnie Jackson’s attacking options alongside Matty Stevens, Omar Bugiel and Josh Kelly.

The former Charlton striker picked up the Player of the Year, Radio WDON Player of the Year and Junior Dons’ Player of the Year in the 2020-21 season for the Dons.
