AFC Wimbledon confirm goalkeeper transfer deal agreement with Brighton

AFC Wimbledon have revealed that young goalkeeper Charlie Wilson-Papps has joined Brighton.

The Dons say they have received a “substantial six-figure fee” for the U15 player.

Wimbledon have had a number of their prospect keepers snapped up in the past. Matthew Cox joining Brentford in July 2021 while Will Mannion, now on the books of Charlton Athletic, signed for Hull City in July 2016. Compensation in that deal was decided by a tribunal.

Brighton raided another South London club in 2021 when they prised goalkeeper James Beadle, aged 17 at the time, away from Charlton.
