AFC Wimbledon defender set for summer stay

The South London Press understands that Jack Currie is set to remain at AFC Wimbledon this summer.

The transfer window slams shut on Friday at 11PM.

Currie was subject to multiple bids from Bristol City last winter, with the Championship side attempting to secure his services after a stellar start to life in League Two with the Dons.

The 21-year-old has missed the start of the 2023-24 campaign after picking up a quad injury in the 2-0 pre-season win over National League side Wealdstone.

Top teams in League One and Championship sides remain interested in Currie, but they will now eye a move for the former Eastbourne Borough loanee in January.

Currie will have six months remaining on his initial deal when the January transfer window starts, but the Dons do have the option to extend his stay at Plough Lane for a further 12 months.

The defender, who has made 50 senior appearances for the Dons, has returned to training following his injury.
