AFC Wimbledon exit FA Cup after 2-1 loss to Crawley Town
AFC Wimbledon’s fixture schedule will be slightly less congested after their FA Cup campaign came to an end on Sunday afternoon.
The Dons lost 2-1 to Crawley Town to exit at the second round stage.
Joe Pigott had put Wimbledon ahead at Plough Lane as he headed home from Ethan Chislett’s right-wing cross in the 22nd minute.
Ashley Nadesan produced a deft finish over Connal Trueman to quickly cancel out the hosts’ advantage.
Max Walters smashed in from close-range in the 50th minute after a goalmouth scramble as Wimbledon’s pleas for a foul on Trueman were waved away.
Crawley keeper Glenn Morris had to turn a well-struck Pigott shot around his left upright in the second period.
